1. Introduction

Astrokod respects the privacy of its visitors, subscribers and service users.

This Privacy Policy explains which personal data we process, for what purposes, on which legal bases, how long we retain it and which rights you have in relation to that processing.

2. Personal data we collect

The data we process depends on how you use the website and whether you choose to contact us or subscribe to the newsletter.

Newsletter subscription

When you subscribe to the newsletter, we process:

  • your email address
  • the website language and source of the subscription
  • the time of consent and subscription status
  • a technical unsubscribe token and, after unsubscribing, the time of unsubscribe

Contact form

When you send a general or other enquiry, we process:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • the selected type of enquiry
  • the content of your message

Astrological Orientation enquiry

If you contact us about Astrological Orientation, you may also voluntarily provide, in addition to your contact details and message:

  • the name of the person for whom the Orientation is requested
  • date of birth
  • time of birth
  • place of birth

Technical data

When you use the website, the hosting and security infrastructure may process technical data needed to deliver, protect and diagnose the website, such as:

  • IP address
  • device, operating system and browser type
  • the requested page, request time and basic technical logs

Analytics data

Only if you consent to analytics may Google Analytics 4 process visit data, including:

  • pages viewed and basic interactions
  • the duration and time of visits
  • approximate geographical location
  • device and browser type
  • how you arrived at the website

3. Purposes of processing

We process personal data only for the following purposes:

  • responding to general, editorial, collaboration and technical enquiries
  • responding to enquiries about Astrological Orientation and preparing and arranging the service
  • maintaining the newsletter list, sending subscribed content and processing unsubscribes
  • producing visit statistics and understanding how content is used, only with consent to analytics
  • delivering the website securely and reliably, preventing abuse and resolving technical issues

We do not sell or rent personal data to third parties.

4. Legal bases for processing

The applicable legal basis depends on the purpose and circumstances of the processing:

Newsletter — consent

We process your email address and related newsletter data on the basis of consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw consent by unsubscribing or contacting Astrokod.

Analytics — consent

Google Analytics 4 is enabled only after you consent to analytics, on the basis of Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Declining analytics does not affect access to the website's content or essential functions.

General and other enquiries — legitimate interests

We process data from enquiries that you voluntarily submit so that we can receive and provide a meaningful response, on the basis of our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. We do not rely on those interests where they are overridden by your rights and freedoms.

Astrological Orientation — steps prior to entering into a contract

When, at your request, we respond to an enquiry, prepare an offer or arrange Astrological Orientation, the processing is necessary in order to take steps prior to entering into a contract or, where applicable, for the performance of a contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Security and technical operation — legitimate interests

We process necessary technical data to operate the website securely and reliably, prevent abuse and diagnose issues, on the basis of our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

5. Data storage and retention

We retain data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, taking into account the status of our relationship, the need for further communication, legal obligations and the establishment or defence of legal claims.

Data relating to active newsletter subscribers is retained until they unsubscribe or withdraw consent. After an unsubscribe, we may retain a limited record of the address, consent and unsubscribe for as long as necessary to honour the unsubscribe and demonstrate that consent had previously been given.

Enquiry correspondence is retained until the response is complete and for a reasonable period afterwards where this is needed to continue the conversation or protect legal rights. Data relating to Astrological Orientation is retained while the service is being arranged and provided, and afterwards only for as long as necessary for contractual, legal or evidential reasons.

Analytics and technical data is retained according to the settings and retention periods of the relevant provider, and no longer than necessary for statistical, security or diagnostic purposes.

6. Service providers and recipients

We use a limited number of external providers to operate the website. They may process data within the scope of their technical role, the applicable contractual terms and their own legal obligations.

The current implementation includes:

  • Vercel — website hosting and delivery, and the execution of server functions through which forms are processed
  • Google Sheets, through Google's infrastructure — maintaining the newsletter subscriber and unsubscribe register
  • Google Analytics 4 — optional website analytics, used only after consent
  • the active email and SMTP provider — delivery and storage of contact and service correspondence

We limit access to data to the people and providers who need it for the stated purpose.

7. Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 only if a visitor consents to analytics. Before consent, Google's analytics script does not load and Astrokod does not send visit data to Google Analytics.

After consent, GA4 may process data such as:

  • numbers of users, visits and sessions
  • pages viewed and basic interactions
  • visit duration and source
  • approximate location and device and browser type

Google states that the IP address is used during collection to determine approximate location and is discarded before the data is logged in a data centre. Astrokod does not send form content or email addresses to Google Analytics.

8. Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Vercel and Google operate internationally. Depending on the particular service, account settings and infrastructure location, technical, analytics or submitted data may be processed or accessed outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Astrokod therefore does not claim that all data is stored exclusively in the European Union.

Where Chapter V GDPR applies to a transfer outside the EEA, the required mechanism may be an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses or another appropriate safeguard. The applicable mechanism depends on the service and the contractual terms of the particular account. You may contact Astrokod for information about the safeguard applicable to a specific processing activity.

9. Your rights

Depending on the legal basis and circumstances of the processing, you have the right to:

  • request access to your personal data
  • request rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • request erasure where the relevant conditions are met
  • request restriction of processing where applicable
  • request the transfer of data where the right to data portability applies
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • withdraw consent at any time; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn

If you believe that the processing of your data infringes applicable law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with Agencija za zaštitu osobnih podataka (AZOP), Croatia's competent data protection supervisory authority.

10. Data security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

No internet transmission or storage system is entirely without risk, so provider safeguards and settings should be kept aligned with the website's actual operation.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the website's functions, service providers, processing activities or applicable law change.

The current version and date of the latest update will always be available on this page.
